My Own Yoga - Private Yoga Lessons In Your Own Home

About Michelle Dortignac

Michelle Dortignac has been practicing Yoga for 20 years. In 1998, she became certified to teach vinyasa Yoga by the OM Yoga Center. Upon graduation, she was honored with an invitation to teach at OM, a position she accepted and loved until her departure in 2002, when she left to concentrate on MY OWN YOGA. Michelle has always preferred working with students in a one-on-one situation or in small groups. She has worked at private fitness facilities and private homes around New York City and Brooklyn, where she lives. Her gentle way with students, her empathic approach, her intuitive sensitivity, and her years of experience with individual practice, all contribute to making her a highly sought after teacher.

The increased body awareness Michelle acquired from studying Yoga has inspired her to embrace other physical activities as diverse as alpine skiing and aerial acrobatics. This participation in numerous sports broadens her understanding of what the human body is capable of as well as when it needs to be soothed.

Michelle seeks to inspire all students to also question their own assumptions of their limitations, both physical and otherwise. It is with that desire that she has pioneered a new type of Yoga - Unnata Aerial Yoga, founded in New York City in 2006.

And because a teacher can only guide a student to where she herself has been, Michelle continues her own Yoga studies with renowned teacher Sri Dharma Mittra of the Dharma Yoga Center.
